I must admit it, I'm a fanatic flytyer!
The fanatic part is my almost extreme approach to fly tying. I stride towards knowledge on both ancient and present ideas and methods, in order to be able to train and possible one day, master some of the techniques.
In my study of the art of tying artificial flies, I've been making my own wax.
Especially since cobblers wax is a resource, that can be hard to find. I'm still not 100% satisfied with the results, and the work is in progress.
Another work is on the line making, where one om my plans is to make a full DT line of furled/spun horse hair. A project that is still in the beginning.
To combine that project with fly tying, I do tie some flies in hand, no vice style. Mostly Spiders (north country flies), Carrie Stevens streamers and classic Danish sea trout flies.
Looking forward to hopefully being able to contribute to this site a little with my progress in fly tying.
May you tying thread never break!
